DigiLocker is flagship initiative of Ministry of Electronics & IT under Digital India Programme. DigiLocker aims to digitally empower the citizens of India by providing access to authentic digital documents to citizen's digital document wallet. The issued documents in DigiLocker system are deemed to at par with original physical documents as per Rule 9A of the Information Technology (Preservation & Retention of information by intermediaries providing digital locker facilities) Rules, 2016, notified on February 8, 2017 vide G.S.R.711(E).

option to your DigiLocker account( for existing user accounts ). In case you are new to DigiLocker system and/or intend to create new user DigiLocker account there is a option right below the button to do so.
For new DigiLocker system account creation the only prerequisites you
will be required to possess is an Aadhar.

After OTP Verification ,the system will prompt you to input a DigiLocker Account Username, which will complete the registration process and you will be able to see the homepage , from where you can start didgitalising your certificates and records. The username must be unique and minimum 8 charcters long .
